About Us

Our Mission is to assist Indigenous peoples in BC separately and collectively to meet their education goals, and to support the educational components of Indigenous language revitalization.

The New Relationship Trust Foundation is a charitable non-profit organization that was created in 2011 by the New Relationship Trust (NRT). To advance the education goals of First Nations in British Columbia, the New Relationship Trust Foundation focuses on three key areas:

  • Scholarships;
  • Bursaries; and
  • First Nations Language Revitalization

Since 2008, the New Relationship Trust and NRT Foundation have awarded 2,371 scholarships and bursaries totalling $10.5 million in post-secondary financial support to First Nations students from a First Nation in BC. On average, 50% of eligible applicants are declined because of a shortage of available funds.
