Aaron Wilson

Musqueam Nation
NRTF Masters Scholarship

I am a member of Musqueam First Nation in Vancouver, BC, and I am currently in my second year of Law at the University of British Columbia. Inspired by historic Aboriginal court cases and the achievements of my fellow band members, I view increased Aboriginal involvement in the field of law as a means of advancing Aboriginal issues both locally and nationally. I am also on the executive of the UBC Indigenous Law Students’ Association, and am the student coordinator for Musqueam 101, a community meal and speaker series held weekly on the Musqueam Reserve.

Saylesh Wesley

NRTF Doctorate scholarship
Gender, sexuality and Women's Studies

I am Sto:lo / Tsimshian and have completed both my Bachelor and Master of Education at the University of British Columbia. I am currently enrolled in the Gender, Sexuality and Women’s Studies Program at Simon Fraser University, and have successfully completed my first year. My mission is to revitalize the extinct two-spirited roles as they were once upheld prior to contact. I am motivated to formally publish the knowledge I locate and to contribute my findings to post-secondary levels of scholarship.
