The New Relationship Trust Foundation assists First Nations students in BC to achieve their educational goals and supports First Nations language revitalization initiatives on an ongoing basis. Scholarships and Bursaries are available to First Nation students pursuing a post-secondary education from a recognized institution.
Scholarships are awarded at the Bachelors, Masters, and Doctorate levels. Scholarship applications and guidelines for the 2019-20 academic year are open, closing June 13th at noon. Students that intend to apply for a scholarship should return at that time to download the updated application form and guidelines.
Bursaries are awarded to students pursuing trades certificates and diplomas. Bursary applications and guidelines for the 2019-20 academic year are open, closing June 6th at noon, and 2nd call opens September 26th – closing October 10th at noon. Students that intend to apply for a bursary should return at that time to download the updated application form and guidelines.
Indigenous Early Years Scholarships and Bursaries are awarded to Indigenous (First Nations, Métis (MNBC verified), and Inuit) students residing in British Columbia that are enrolled at an accredited post-secondary institution and are studying in an early years related field. One time only Summer 2019 IEY Scholarship Funding is now open, and closes May 9th at noon. Fall 2019-20 applications will be made available alongside NRTF announcement dates. Students that intend to apply for an Indigenous Early Years Scholarship or Bursary should return at that time to download the new application form and guidelines.
